About The Christianson’s Nursery Wedding Venue
Christianson’s Nursery has been a gardening haven for local amateur and professional gardeners for over 30 years. Owned and staffed by gardening enthusiasts and professional horticulturalists, Christianson’s Nursery is the perfect place for any advice on plants, planting, and maintenance, as well as stocking your own garden with flourishing seedlings, greenery, and florals.
While the nursery itself has been around since 1990, there are several buildings on the property that date back much further. Christianson’s Schoolhouse is the oldest remaining one-room schoolhouse in Northwest Washington, dating back 135 years to 1888. The gorgeous Propagation House dates back to 1946. It is a classic greenhouse-inspired space that houses tropical plants in the winter and growing geraniums in the spring and summer.
There are several ways to organize a spectacular wedding at Christianson’s Nursery, utilizing as many beautiful spaces and gardens as possible.
Details of the Grounds
The Christianson’s Nursery property has several unique buildings and garden spaces for an intimate wedding ceremony and celebration.
First, begin your day by preparing in The Teacher’s Cottage, a rustic space adorned with vintage accents and decorated in soft, romantic colors. With private bathrooms, it’s an ideal space for a bride and her wedding party to prepare for the wedding day.
Not to be left out, there is a second getting-ready space for the groom and his party called The Oak Room, styled with comfortable leather furniture and a working retro icebox to store snacks and drinks. Plus, they’ll be near the real stars of Christianson’s Nursery – Rosie the llama and her goat and chicken friends!
For your ceremony, you can say “I do” at Christianson’s Schoolhouse, a peaceful and elegant site. You can exchange your vows on the Schoolhouse’s front steps, at the back of the building surrounded by beautiful landscaping, or indoors in a rustic, cozy environment. From the Schoolhouse, you and your guests will have breathtaking views of panoramic farmland, Mount Baker, and an elegant English Rose Garden. There is room to accommodate up to 50 seated guests within the Schoolhouse, but if you choose to hold your ceremony in the Rose Garden, there is room for 120 people.
Host your reception as an elegant outdoor luncheon or dinner party at a Christianson’s Nursery Wedding. Dine beneath beautiful skies and surrounded by gardens and trees. Or, set up your gorgeous tablescapes in the greenhouse-inspired Propagation House, with its stunning glass ceilings, tables of growing plants, and lush hanging baskets, perfect for receptions of up to 50 seated guests.

Wedding Details
There is plenty of flexibility regarding vendors at a Christianson’s Nursery wedding. You can bring in your own caterer as long as they have the proper permits. As long as you have bartenders with a MAST permit, you can also supply and serve your own alcohol. The venue provides a limited amount of tables and chairs. Still, they have plenty of recommended vendors for additional rentals and wedding must-haves.
