It’s 1:47 AM, and your baby is finally asleep. It’s time to wash your face, change out of the third pair of spit-up-stained sweatpants, and finally lay down just in time to hear your baby stir. Every inch of you tightens as you hope against hope that they settle back down. And just as you start to thank your lucky stars, the crying starts, and it’s time to begin the process all over again. This is a scenario most parents know all too well. And while there’s no way to get your newborn to magically transform into a night sleeper who respects your limits, professionals can help. If you’re exhausted from all the late-night feedings, let me tell you about Seattle Night Doulas. This fabulous organization is here to take the night shift so you can sleep.

About Seattle Night Doulas

At Seattle Night Doulas, they understand you’re the best parent when fully rested. The organization was started by doulas Amy and Liz. The pair are passionate about helping families find joy in the newborn months.

They know that sleep deprivation worsens your judgment and increases your risk of postpartum mood disorder. They make it easy to find non-judgmental assistance. The two are fierce advocates for providing you with the help you need to make those early months more manageable.

Services

When you hire the Seattle Night Doulas, you’ll have help for a minimum of 8 hours, though you can book them for longer if needed. Your contract will last for at least eight weeks and will provide you with overnight care 2-7 times a week. You’ll hand your baby off to your doula during this time and get some rest.

While the doulas can bottle-feed your baby, you can choose to be gently woken up so you can nurse. They’ll handle all wake-ups, burps, diaper changes, and swaddling. If the baby does sleep, they’ll lay down nearby and get some solid rest as well. Your doula will let you take over once you feel refreshed in the morning.

Specialty

Once your baby is at the age where they can sleep for longer periods of time (around 4-6 months), you can hire the Seattle Night Doulas for sleep coaching. They’ll troubleshoot frequent wake-ups and provide you with gentle yet effective ways to encourage your child to snooze for longer. They also provide overnight independent sleep training where they’ll work with your baby while you get some rest.
