One of my favorite things to do is pull out boxes of old photo albums, prints, and slides from all the way back to my great grandparents generation, will your great grandchildren be able to do the same? Where are you based?
I’m maternity photographer in Seattle. Home is Olympia, WA and a majority of my work takes place in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest. While most of my clients trust the studio, field or coastal locations I’ve pre-selected, please let me know if you have something else in mind.
What time of day should we do photos?
An hour before sunset is ideal for beautiful lighting, the kind that brings out warm, natural skin tones and a film-like finish. This can make for later sessions in the summer, but is key to creating the fine art portraits I’m known for. I have tips to help with the little ones if need be; just ask!
When will we get our photos?
In the 2-4 weeks following your session, I’ll be in the creative midst of photo editing — this includes color correcting, tone adjustments, cropping and curating a gallery of timeless, cohesive images. When ready, you’ll receive an email with a link to schedule your viewing and ordering appointment.
Can we get just the digitals?
Of course! Digital collections are available in 10, 20, or your full gallery of 30+ images. All artwork purchases include the corresponding digital image, many families choose to receive their digital images through their artwork investment.
Are the sessions really untimed?
Yes! Good things take time. We may not need all day, but we won’t put a timer on things either. I don’t time my sessions to ensure that nothing is rushed, and that if meltdowns happen, we have time to relax back into things. Portrait sessions end when I feel we've fully documented what's necessary for your gallery and artwork selection.
When should we book our newborn?
Booking your maternity session 6-8 weeks in advance ensures we have time to plan, coordinate hair and makeup, and put together wardrobe. Newborn and maternity clients will typically book me early in their second trimester. June - September are my busiest months and book well in advance.
