As an Olympia area Maternity photographer, my one wish for clients is to help you have a photo session you’ll not only enjoy, but appreciate for years to come. Maternity portraits with your older child(ren) and partner are the perfect way to document your growing family during such a special season of life.
All too often, moms decide to skip maternity photos after their first pregnancy. As a mom of four, I 100% know that each pregnancy is different and how much busier life gets. But, I would argue that’s even more of a reason to carve out the time to reserve maternity portraits for every pregnancy! Nine months isn’t nearly as long as it seems, is it?
Just look at how incredibly sweet these moments are of the beautiful mama and her baby boy are. She’s going to look back on these and instantly be transported back to their special time together before he became the great big brother he’s destined to be.
When you’re expecting your first, there’s a naive magical sense of wonder and excitement about what’s to come. With your second, you know more of what to expect and how much work is ahead of you, but you also have the experience to know what kind of big adventures and love waits ahead. And truly, there’s nothing better than watching your kids become older siblings and the bonds they make.
Why an Outdoor Maternity Session might be your best option
At the end of the day, we both know that kids will be kids. As an experienced maternity photographer in Olympia and mom, I have a ton of tricks up my sleeve, I promise.
If you are concerned about how your older kiddo(s) will behave during the session, choosing an outdoor location might be your best option. A session outdoors will give your child(ren) time and space to warm up to the camera and me. They can run around when they aren’t in the image and join in for a moment when they’re ready. I’ll guide your family through fun games and prompts to get all of the giggles and capture that sweet smile you love some much!
